Fruitful US Egyptian cooperation
Egypt, Agriculture, 10/24/1997

Egyptian Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture Dr. Youssef Wali lauded US-Egyptian relations in the field of agriculture, especially in the field of transferring modern technologies to Egyptian agriculture. This cooperation improved the productivity of Egyptian crops, without exception, he said.

He added that more than 1500 of the staff of the agricultural sector received training in the USA within the past years, 300 of whom received their Ph.D. while 200 received their MA degrees.

Wali met a delegation from the US Congress which included many of the legislative advisors. During the meeting, the issue of boosting agricultural relations between Egypt and the US was studied in addition to the possibility of the participation of the biggest US companies in the projects of developing the south region of the valley in Egypt.
