125 American fighting planes in Bright Star training

The main phase of the Bright Star Military Training '97 will start tomorrow in which 210 Egyptian fighter planes will participate in addition to 125 US fighter planes, 21 French, 10 Italian, and 6 British planes. The Egyptian Navy will also participate with 9 pieces which include submarines, destroyers, mine sweepers, Yachts and Rockets.

ArabicNews.com has learned that the Bright Star Military Training 97 will have many field experiments to treat casualties of weapons of mass destruction and a treatment center for injury from chemical and nuclear weapons. It will also witness search and salvaging operations in the sea waters by helicopters and small boats.

Egyptian, British and American forces will train using live ammunition. Many landing operations using the Apache planes will be done with the participation of UAE forces.

The Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi and the Egyptian Chief of Staff Magdy Hatata will attend the final phase of the training.
