Seminar on Qatar in Vienna

The Austrian Association for the Middle East and the Austrian Academy yesterday jointly organised a seminar on Qatar, yesterday. Speakers at the seminar shed light on important aspects of Qatar's ancient and modern history.

In his opening address, the charge d'affairs of the Qatari embassy, Saleh Abdullah al-Bouainain, reviewed developments in Qatar, praising relations between Qatar and Austria.

Refering to Qatar's economic policy, he highlighted the interest the government is giving :to development and to the huge investments in gas projects.:

He also spoke about aspects of Qatar's foreign policy, its faith in the Middle East peace process as an Arab strategic option to solve the Middle East crisis by peaceful means and "realising just and comprehensive peace in the region.:

He welcomed participation by Austrian businessmen and companies in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) economic conference due to be held in Doha in November.
