Palestinians declare Jericho disaster zone

The Palestinian Authority yesterday stated the west bank town Jericho a disaster area after sudden rainstorms destroyed 52 homes and large tracts of crop land. PLO officials said.
Sudden floods after rainstorms on last Friday and Saturday have killed at least 11 people in desert areas of southern Israel and near Jewish settlement in the west bank.
Israeli police and rescue officials said. Palestinian agriculture minister Abdl Jawad Saleh estimated agriculture loses as a result of rainstorms at 6.9 milliom U.S in The Jericho zone.
Al Wafd daily paper said today October 22.
