3,000 divorce cases

Within a period of five months, from March until July 1997 there have been 3,000 cases of divorce in the Riyadh region, Okaz daily reported.
Dr. Ibrahim Malawi, professor of sociology at King Saud university, commenting on this alarming rate of divorce, said that the changing times coupled with an increase in daily life problems had impacted on relationships, leading to a loss of honesty, sincerity, love, compassion and cooperation.
