Worker commits suicide over medical report
Egypt, Local, 10/21/1997
A worker in Giza committed suicide yesterday by hanging himself in his bedroom ceiling after doctors had told him that his medical condition was a hopeless case, police said.
They said that Mohsen Hassan, 22, took the opportunity of being home alone and ended his life after receiving a medical report which indicated that his chances for recovery were nil.
They added that they had reported the incident to the Giza prosecutor, who ordered an autopsy be performed, after which he would issue a burial permit provided that there were no criminal causes behind Hassan's death, Al Akhbar daily said today October 21.
