Egypt requests that Britain not host terrorists
Egypt, International, 10/21/1997
Egypt called on Britain anew not to let the terrorists use its territories in an illegal way under the cover of political asylum as these terrorists are outlaws and are involved in financing and encouraging terrorism.
Egypt requested that Britain repatriate those terrorists to their countries after it gets the complete files which will prove the involvement of these terrorists in criminal activities.
Cairo's request came in response to British surprise at Egypt's consolidation with Bahrain. In a statement issued from Cairo at the end of the meetings of the Joint Egyptian-Bahraini Committee, the two countries requested that European countries which support terrorists and give them the right to apply for political asylum stop giving the chance to those terrorists to use their territories and laws to get arms and money.
Egypt said that it supports the Bahraini stances. Bahrain referred 8 of its citizens to trial on accounts of undermining the national security of Bahrain, 5 of whom live in Britain and applied for political asylum there.
Diplomatic sources in Cairo stated that Cairo supports Manama in its confrontation with terrorism and its attempts to protect itself against the western campaigns.
