Tunisian president visits France today

The Tunisian President Zein Al Abidin Bin Ali will pay a two-day official visit to France during which he will meet French President Jaques Chirac in response to a visit paid by the French President to Tunisia in October 1995.
During his visit Bin Ali will meet with the French Parliament member Rene Monroe and the mayor of Paris, who will hold a reception party on Bin Ali's honor. Bin Ali will also hold a meeting with French Premier Lionel Jospin at the French Prime Ministry.
The Tunisian President will also meet tomorrow morning with the head of the French National Association, Loran Fabious, after which he will meet with Tunisian expatriates in France in Larson De la Evans building.
Bin Ali will discuss Tunisian-French trade relations with the French officials, as the volume of Tunisian exports to France reached 26% of total Tunisian exports. Tunisian imports from France represent 24% of total Tunisian imports and also France is the biggest investor in Tunisia.
The two Presidents will try to boost bilateral cooperation through signing many agreements within the partnership agreement signed by the two countries. They will also discuss issues of mutual interest on the regional and international level including the issue of the children born to parents from different nationalities and the issue of visas and movement of citizens.
