Human rights groups call for action on Algeria

Four leading human rights organizations called on the world to stop turning a blind eye to the crisis in Algeria where more than 60,000 people have died in almost six years of violence.
Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, "Reports Sans Frontiers," and the International Federation of Human Rights said in a statement to be issued later today that the UN commission on human rights should convene a special session on Algeria.
"Thousands of people woman children, the poor and elderly have been Massacred with unspeakable brutality," the four organizations said in a statement, Al Wafd daily reported.
