Israel's army chief is trying to persuade Turkey during his two-day visit to replace its armored vehicle with Israeli Merkava III tanks, the Jerusalem Post newspaper reported Sunday.
Israeli army leader Major-General Amnon Shahak visited Turkey last Sunday for meetings with Turkey's leader, prime minister and army chief. Shahak visited Ankara in a reciprocal visit at the invitation of his counterpart, general Ismail Hakkik Aradai, who was a guest of the Israeli army last February, and army spokesman said.
