Sphinx statues found in Luxor

The Egyptian archeological expedition headed by the director of the archeological sites in Luxor, Dr. Mohammed Al Sager, found 34 statues of the Sphinx in the road known as the Road of the Sphinx-Headed Rams.
Dr. Al Sager said that the statues were found in a 160 meter area near the area of the airport, north of Luxor. He added that some of the statues date back to the the era of King Nephtenion of the 29 dynasty, and some date back to the era of King Tutankhamen and King Hor Moheb.
Dr. Al Sager said that these 34 statues will increase the total number of statues found in the Road of the Sphinx-Headed Rams to 600 during the past few years.
He stated that there is a plan aiming to find all 1200 statues believed to exist in two and half kilometer this area. Only one kilometer has been searched till now, he said.
