Bahrain: power generation and water desalination project

Bahrain signed an agreement with a British company to set up the first phase of the project of the pipes transferring water from the Al Had station to generate electricity and to desalinate water with a cost of 945 million dinars.
The total cost of the project is 37 million dinars which includes setting up a reservoir to hold about 3 million gallons of desalinated water which will be used to generate electricity. The project also includes extending 45 kilometres of water pipes to transfer the desalinated water from the station to the cities of Al Muharaq and Al Manama. A station for mixing water in Al Sibais will be also set up.
