Prisoners oject to Ramleh conditions
Palestine, Politics, 10/10/1997
Palestinian prisoners currently hospitalized in Ramleh prison hospital said they have been subject to psychological pressure and torture ever since they were admitted to the center for treatment.
A statement issued by the prisoners, 13 in total, and distributed by Mandela, a Palestinian organization for the prisoners, said many of the prisoners suffer from serious diseases and that the hospital administration refrains from supplying them with daily needs until after they have been harassed by the staff. The prisoners said that though they are bound to their beds under strict guard, they still have their beds and bags searched many times each day in a provocative manner and complained that family visitations have lately been restricted.
