Palestinian Authority, Israel shut down for Yom Kippur

Israel imposed a total closure on all Palestinian territories as of noon on Friday until Saturday night, while Jews mark their day of atonement (Yom Kippur) In Israel itself, no cars are allowed to drive at all. Public life is totally paralyzed and people stay at home, with those religious observing a total fast, during which they neither eat nor drink until after the day is over Saturday night. Transport of Palestinians abroad to Jordan and Egypt through the crossing points is also canceled for the two days.
