Gaza airport opening plans in final stages
Palestine, Business, 10/9/1997
The Palestinian-Israeli airport committee meets in Tel Aviv on Thursday to discuss the final stages of opening the Gaza International Airport, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, said.
The agency quoted Brigadier General Fayez Zeidan, head of Palestinian Airport Authority as saying that the two sides would embark on steps that need to be taken to immediately open the airport. The meeting of the committee follows an agreement to this effect between PNA President Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who met early Wednesday morning for the first time in eight months.
