Egyptian parties request Qatar stop sending invitations for Mena
Egypt-Qatar, Politics, 10/7/1997

The Egyptian Committee for Combating Normalization requested that the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad Bin Khalifa, cancel the MENA conference due to be held next month. It lauded the Arab Countries that decided not to participate in the conference.

It called on those countries that did not decide whether to participate or not to declare their condemnation of US and Zionist attempts to control the region.

The committee's coordinator, Hamed Mahmoud, declared that a letter will be sent to the Emir of Qatar in the coming days to request him to stop sending invitations, especially as Israel disdains Arab rights and shows indifference to its peace agreements.

The Committee comprises representatives of the parties of the Nasserist, El Tagamou, Labor, El Wafd, El Ahrar, trade unions, the General Labor Syndicate and the Vocational Federation in Egypt.
