Imamship in Al Ansar sect to freeze

A source in Sudan confirmed that Ahmed El Mahdi has abandoned the post of Imam in the Al Ansar sect for the time being. The step came as a result of the firm stand of Al Ansar affairs authority (AAA) and the grassroots of the organization in the Sudan.
The London-based paper "Al Hayat" quoted Ahmed El Mahdi as saying that he held meetings with a member of Al Ansar leaders to resolve the difference.
He said that the question of "Imamship" or "Imamah" will be frozen for the time being. The Sudanese authorities helped Ahmed El Mahdi to obtain the post of Imam of Al Ansar instead of Al Sadiq Al Mahdi.
