Direct investment in Egypt is $900 million

Egyptian Minster of Economy Youssef Botrous Ghali expects the volume of direct investment in Egypt to reach $1.5 billion by the end of the current year due to the successful economic policies.
Direct investment in Egypt rose from $432 million in 1995 to about $900 million last year. Ghali said that the currency exchange rate is stable, adding that anybody is free to transfer $10 million out of Egypt and then bring it back again without any problem.
He stated that he aims to increase the growth rate of Egypt, which is currently at 5.5% percent. The government is trying to increase the rate to 7.6% which will improve individual incomes.
