US Banking and Marketing Association objects to Iraq and Libya's benefiting from its agreements
Regional, Economics, 10/6/1997

Politics intervened in the banking world as the US Banking and Marketing Association (USBMA) objected to Iraq and Libya's benefiting from the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreements which the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences ( AABFS) reached with it.

The director of the AABFS confirmed that all Arab countries can benefit from these Agreements because the AABFS is a member of the Arab Universities Federation, an offshoot of the Arab League. The USBMA agreed and dropped its objection.

Meanwhile, the USBMA in cooperation with the AABFS will prepare a study on the volume of money spent on marketing by the 500 Arab banks. The USBMA had previously prepared a similar study last year on the banks working in the USA.
