Qatari Foreign Minister meets Annan

Qatar's Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani met UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in New York on Thursday. They discussed issues tabled on the agenda of the 52nd session of the UN General Assembly, including the Middle East peace process, the Middle East and North African Economic Conference (Mena) to be held in Doha next month, UN reforms and situations in some African countries.
The minister also met Sierra Leone President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, foreign ministers Madbou Sidibi of Mali, Senegal's Moutapha Niasse and Chad's Mohamat Saleh Ahmat. The foreign minister later left for Doha.
