Lebanese ambassadors meet in Paris
Lebanon, Politics, 10/4/1997

Eighteen Lebanese ambassadors met yesterday in Paris in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Fares Boueiz, and the foreign affairs' secretary-general, ambassador Zafer El-Hassan. The session, which is the first of its kind, centered around the peace process in the Middle East.

During the press conference that followed, Boueiz praised Lebanon's relationship with the European countries. He stated that Lebanon wouldn't allow any Palestinians to settle in its territory. He declared that he hasn't received any official Israeli proposal of withdrawal from the occupied territories in south Lebanon and the western Bekaa. Boueiz also noted that the Israeli conditions for withdrawal were diminishing, which is, according to him, a good sign.
