Arafat-Mubarak meeting in Alexandria
Palestine, Politics, 10/2/1997
Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat held talks with Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak in Alexandria yesterday to assess the latest US efforts on resuming peace negotiations between Israel and the PA.
Arafat, ending a tour which included north African countries, said that the Israeli government was challenging the whole world community by refusing to implement agreements signed with the Palestinians. He said he hoped that an October 6 high-level meeting with US peace envoy Dennis Ross in Washington and an October 12 meeting between Israel and the PA will put the peace process back on track, Al Gomhoria reported today.
