Kuwait forms National Orchestra

Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters has formed the first Kuwaiti National Orchestra to participate in future offcial and national occasions. Music and culture advisor Saleh Hamdan said on October 1 that the orchestra, formed from young Kuwaiti amateurs, will start a training course on October 4.
Hamdan added that the national orchestra will perform local and international pieces of music.
The team's first actual performance will be on December 5 as part of the fourth Qurain cultural festival, Hamdan said.
During the festival the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters will also organize a contest for students in the fields of writing short stories, poetry, literature essays, press essays, one-chapter plays, photography, painting and sculpture.
