A laundry of proposal on finance and budget committee agenda

The parliamentary finance and budget committee held a meeting yesterday, in the presence of the representatives of financial authorities and the General Labor Confederation. The dialogue centered on three main points, which are the administrative reforms, the influence of politics on the economical situation and the waste in spending.

The committee's rapporteur, MP Farid Ghosn, summarized the proposals discussed during the meeting. The main points included enacting active supervision over government spending, starting an administrative reform project, creating a coherent and balanced economic revival plan that will not block social policy, dropping the policy of taxation without prior planning, enhancing the collection of taxation and fees, ceasing all expenditure outside the budget, minimizing the public expenditure and borrowing and giving the private sector more opportunity to participate in social and organizational initiatives. The committee will meet with cabinet ministers next week.
