Khiam torture more frequent

Detainees at Israel's Khiam prison have been subjected to further mistreatment after the killing of 12 Israeli commandos in a battle with the resistance at Ansariyeh on September 5, the National Committee for Lebanese Detainees in Israeli prisons said on September 30.
The committee, headed by Mohamed Obied who is also the director of the Information Ministry, met with the British ambassador to Lebanon.
The British ambassador voiced his government's concern over the situation at Khiam, which is run by the South Lebanon Army, a statement from the committee said.
The British ambassador pledged to inform his government and British and international humanitarian organizations of the situation.
