Power workers threaten strike
Lebanon, Economics, 9/30/1997
Workers at the Electricite du Liban announced on September 29 they would begin an open-ended strike on October 14 if their company did not redress their long standing grievances.
The association of power authority workers said the company had so far failed to appoint employees based on tenure, and asked for increasing scholarships to workers' children among other demands.
