Hariri visits Damascus

Prime Minister Rafik Hariri held a prolonged meeting with the Syrian Vice President Abdel-Halim Khaddam during his visit to Damascus. The visit came after the rejection of Hariri's 800-million dollar economic plan. The visit was preceded and followed directly afterwards by the prime minister's meetings with President Elias Hrawi in Baabda.
Hariri seemed satisfied with the results of the visit, which he described as "good." He reaffirmed his support for the plan and hoped that it would be approved through discussions and dialogue.
Governmental sources reported to a Lebanese newspaper that the plan will be passed sooner or later through the dialogue.
