Al-Mahdi set to control Al Ansar

A statement, signed by Yousif Hassan, secretary of the external liaison, condemned the position of Ahmed Al-Mahdi who alleged that he has been nominated to Al Ansar leadership by followers of the Al Mahdiea sect in Al-Imam Abdul Rahman Al Mahdi mosque.
The statement said that Al Ansar were not surprised to find the Sudanese government extending its support to those who yearn for leadership. The statement confirmed that the eligibility of Al Sadiq Al Mahdi who, it said, deserves the leadership of Al-Ansar due to his active leadership role, not because of any recommendation from Al Imam Al Mahdi, Akhbar Al Youm daily said.
