Gaza's first public library workers training in France
Palestine, Local, 9/27/1997
A delegation of seven employees from the Gaza Municipality have left for Paris for a special intensive library science training course in France. The four-month course is aimed at training the seven employees to handle Gaza's forthcoming first public library, due to open in summer 1998. A number of French municipalities had donated the money for the establishment of this library, which is seen as part of French support for the Palestinian National Authority.
Naser Waheidi, a member of the delegation, said before leaving for France that the group underwent technical tests and took French lessons prior to their departure.
