Assassination attempt on governor in west Sudan

A security group tried to gun down Al Fatteh Ezzidin, governor of Ghobaish in Western Sudan. Al Khartoum daily reported that the governor sustained serious injuries.
It is not clear who made the assassination attempt on his life, but sources said that the assassination attempt comes within the context of existing conflicts between the supporters of the Sudanese government. Ezzidin had been in charge of the homeland youth organization before he was appointed as a governor. He had been involved in corruption related to custom exemptions and suspicious dealings.
