Qatar to export liquid gas to Spain

Qatar will soon start to export its first shipment of liquid gas to the Spanish market through a gas tanker chartered for this purpose.
Last May the Qatari Gas company signed an agreement with a Spanish company through which Qatar will provide the company with 420 thousand tons of treated liquid gas over a period of 13 months. The first shipment will be 70 thousand cubic meters, and it also represents the first shipment of Qatari gas to the European market.
The Qatari Gas company plans to export 18 million tons of gas to Europe annually by the year 2010.
