Reports on mental condition of bus attacker premature

Egypt's prime prosecutor, Ragaa El Araby, said yesterday that he had not given any statements on the mental condition of Saber Mohamed Farahat, the principal suspect in the tourist bus attack on last Thursday.

He said that despite a report by an Egyptian daily paper which was quoted by a number of foreign TV stations that Farahat was found to be mentally sound during investigations, the investigations are still going on and the matter could only be resolved after their completion.

Meanwhile Minister of Interior Hassan Al Alfy said that those who committed the attack were two persons only and there was no terrorist organization behind them.

He added that the prosecutor's office should make sure of the mental condition of the principal culprit in the case, Al Hayat daily said today .
