ISO 9000 for 10 Syrian products

Chief of the Syrian Industry chamber, Yahia al Hindi, said ten Syrian establishments received ISO 9000 certificates and around 50 other establishments are preparing to get the International Standardization Organisation certificate.
He also added that more than 100 establishments are working to get the ISO. There are special offices in Damascus capable of rendering assistance to any organization preparing itself to get the certificate Al Hindi said.
This is a new initiative by Syria to help promote its industry, enhance the competetiveness of its economy through several measures that include the standardization of the exchange rate and the payment of international debt to the World Bank starting with a lump-sum of $269 million.
