The 1998 budget will be discussed tomorrow

The 1998 budget bill will be discussed tomorrow during the cabinet meeting to take place in the presidential residence in Baabda at 10 a.m. The growing treasury deficit and new tax proposals will be, according to sources, the center of the discussion. The announcement was accompanied by Interior Minister Michel Murr's meetings with Speaker Nabih Berri, President Elias Hrawi and Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. The meetings examined the country's financial situation along with the issues of the media and municipal and mayoral elections.
