Two guards wounded in the Israeli embassy in Jordan

Two guards at the Israeli embassy in Jordan were shot and wounded yesterday in Amman. "The Islamic Resistance in Jordan," a fundamentalist organization, has announced its responsibility for the operation. The Jordanian authorities immediately opened an investigation to find the attackers. Meanwhile, King Hussein expressed his shock and assured he was prepared to take all necessary measures to arrest the aggressors.
Jordanian sources fear that this incident, which is the first of its kind since the signing of the Israeli-Jordanian peace treaty, will not be the last. Israel stated that the operation will not affect its relationship with Jordan.
