Beirut mass rally commemorates Hadi Nasrallah and companions
Lebanon, Local, 9/22/1997

The Lebanese national movement on September 21 held a mass rally in Beirut in commemoration of Hadi Hassan Nasrallah, Ali Kawtharani and Haytham Muftieh, who were killed in clashes with Israel a week ago.

The rally was attended by a large number of officials, men of religion from both communities, as well as hundreds of thousands of people.

Hizbullah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah--Hadi's father--addressed the mass rally to hail the bravery of the Lebanese national resistance in South Lebanon and the repeated defeats it inflicted upon the Israeli enemy, particularly within the military establishment.

Nasrallah stressed the depth of cohesion between the army and the Lebanese national resistance that has been repeatedly capable of defeating the Israeli army. He urged Arab and Islamic countries to halt all forms of normalization with Israeli aggressions against the Arab and Islamic nations.
