Eighteen killed and injured in Cairo bomb blast

Nine persons were killed and nine injured in yesterday's Cairo bomb blast at Al Tahrir square in a bomb blast at 12 pm that was aimed at a bus carrying 23 German tourists in front of the Egyptian National Museum in Cairo.

Four terrorists attacked the bus with bombs and gunfire aimed against the tourists, Egyptian citizens and police guard forces.

Nine people were killed and nine others injured. Police forces arrested two of the terrorists, brothers named Saber Mohamed Farahat and Mahmoud M. Farahat.

Police sources said that two terrorists managed to escape capture and an investigation is ongoing to locate their hiding place.

US Secretary Of State Albright condemned this action, and stated its support for Egyptian President Mubarak in his efforts to fight terrorism.

So far, no organization has claimed responsiblity for the attack.
