Prince Talal bin Abdel Aziz inaugurates the International Association of Citizens' Participation

Prince Talal Bin Abdel Aziz, director of the Arab Child and Development Council will inaugurate the 2nd international conference of the "International Association of Citizens' Participation" in the Hungarian capital of Budapest next Tuesday.
700 members of non-governmental organizations and the United Nations will participate in the conference, which will discuss the necessity of spreading democracy, giving a chance to the civil community to defend the rights of citizens, and citizens' participation in developing governmental authorities and organizations. It will also discuss means of communication between the governments and citizens, means of monitoring the official work and decentralization of authority in addition to defending the rights of the less fortunate groups like those of women, youth, and the minorities. The social repercussions of applying the new world order will be also discussed.
The conference will be attended by many dignitaries, on top of which are Hungarian President Arber Gennes, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and many other intellectuals and parliamentarians from all over the world, including the Arab region.
The International Association for Citizens' Participation was founded in 1993 in Barcelona.
