Arab Investment Agreement calls laws that promote investments

The Assistant Secretary General for the Economic Affairs Abdel Rahman al Sohaibany stated that the 25th meeting of the Arab Investment Agreement Organization (AIAO) ended, it was attended by representatives of the Arab member countries and of the specialized Arab organizations together with the Secretariat General of the Arab League.

The AIAO studied the implementation of the Unified Agreement of Investment and its booklet which deals with the Arab capitals and the means for the agreement's use in the Arab countries. It also studied the Arab Forum on Investment and Trade.

The organization called on all concerned bodies to attend the 7th Conference of Arab Businessmen and Investors which will be held in Lebanon next month. It called on experts to attend it in order to discuss the investment environment in the Arab countries and the 1996 report on the investment environment in addition to studying the Arab Information Net.

The organization highlighted the importance of providing the Secretariat General of the Foreign Affairs with new investment laws and their explanations. The participants thanked the organization for preparing the Investment Environment Report of 1996 and called upon it to maintain its efforts in order to issue the report every year.

Al Sohaibany added that the organization called upon the members to benefit from the report and the four subjects tackled by the Forum especially the subject dealing with the environment of investment.
