Israeli aggressions in Lebanon
Lebanon, Military, 9/18/1997
Israeli occupation forces on September 17 continued to attack areas adjacent to occupied south Lebanon.
Security sources said the Israeli artillery in al Mais position shelled the areas of Eita Al Jabal, Tibnin, Hadatha, Bara'sheet, Haris, al Rafi mountain, Maraya, Eqmata and the woods of Sujud.
In retaliation, the Lebanese national resistance attacked with rockets, machine-guns and mortars an Israeli position at Hadatha, scoring direct hits.
Israeli occupation forces and their agents blocked the Ter Hafa-Aljbein road in occupied south Lebanon and opened another road passing through cultivated lands behind the Israeli occupation position in Ter Hafa.
These Israeli acts were condemned by Lebanese civilians in Ter Hafa, but the Israeli forces responded by raiding a number of Lebanese houses.
News reports said that Israeli jets raided this morning at about 9:20 on South Lebanon and the Bekaa region, and that five civilians were injured because of the raids on the cities of Nabatieh and Tyre in the South.
They also reported that Israeli military boats tried once more to approach the Lebanese shore but they were prevented from getting closer by the Lebanese Army. Early in the morning, Israeli boats tried to land their forces on Khaizaran shore in al Zahrani region, but the Lebanese army and resistance rockets forced a retreat.
Israel is using in the new attacks nail bombs that are forbidden by international organizations because they are mainly used against civilian people.
