National legal symposium opens

The national symposium on children and law opened in Damascus on September 17.
The symposium is held by the Justice Ministry in association with UNICEF, with the participation of concerned ministries and bodies under the motto: "For more legal awareness of children's rights and for enhancing this protection in the service of the homeland and community."
Talks delivered on the occasion praised Syrian laws in defense of children's rights, and the successful policy adopted by the country under the leadership of the Syrian president in the service of children's rights and welfare.
"The Syrian legislation has safeguarded children from all forms of abuse", the speaker said.
