Arabs prepare for economic ministers to meet

The Arab League's social and economic council started the 60th permanent delegates session on September 15 to prepare for the economic and finance ministers' meeting, scheduled for September 18.
The head of the council, Tunisia's permanent delegate, underlined the importance of supporting joint Arab action and the need to set the basis of an Arab free trade zone by next year.
Assistant Arab League secretary general of economic affairs, Abdel Rahman al Suhaibani, said the agenda of the meeting includes the Arab free trade zone, especially with respect to its executive plan, which consists of an annual 10 percent tax reduction.
