US assists Egypt in the environmental field

The Egyptian Authority for Environmental Affairs began to implement the agreement for decontaminating Cairo's Air which it signed with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through which Egypt received a $60 million grant.
Dr. Ahmed Al Zorkany, director of the Increasing Awareness Sector stated that the project is one of the most important projects that Egypt has tried to implement with the granting countries to decrease air contamination.
He added that this project is considered the first phase of a greater project aiming to decrease air contamination in the rest of the Egyptian cities. He clarified that this project is planned to deal with the activities that cause maximum air pollution especially cars and motorcycles.
