$19.1 billion loans from the World Bank, the Arab Countries' portion is the least among all countries

A recent report issued by the World Bank showed that it offered loans worth $19.1 billion between June 1996 to June 1997. The report stated that the countries in the Middle East and North Africa received loans worth $950 million compared to $1.6 billion last year. These countries came last in the volume of loans from the World Bank in spite of their great needs.
