Meguid appeals to Aided to participate in Somali reconciliation conference

The Secretary General of the Arab League Esmat Abdel Meguid appealed in his message to the Somali leader Hussein Aided to urge his faction to participate in the Somali Reconciliation Conference, due to be held in November in the Somali city of Yasouso.

Aided had earlier sent Abedl Meguid a message in which he asserted that he would not participate in the conference in Yousaso and explained the reasons.

Ambassador Ahmed Bin Haly, head of the Arab Desk at the Arab League stated that Abdel Meguid's message asked Aided to play a vital role to make the conference succeed. The message asked for Aided's presence as a powerful Somali figure stating that the conference is considered a chance which everybody should seize.

Bin Haly mentioned that there is full coordination with Egypt to contact all the Somali strong factions especially the faction of Aided.
