Incredible traffic jam
Lebanon, Local, 9/16/1997
The streets of Beirut witnessed in the last two days the most intense traffic jam that has ever occurred in the city, and people are complaining because of the time they have had to wait on the road.
News reports blamed the traffic jam on the start of the new school year and the restoration of some streets, especially the bridge of "Fouad Shehab"--commonly called "the Ring"--that is the essential passage between the eastern and the western parts of Beirut.
It is said that this bridge still needs six more month to be restored, but Lebanese people hope that this operation will not last that long because they do not need more troubles and traffic jams.
