Expanding the Egyptian Airports

Engineer Soliman Metwaly, Minister of Transportation and Civil Aviation, declared that the airports in Eastern Ewaynat and Dakhla are ready, their cost reached $24 million. These airports will meet the tourist influx and encourage investments in these regions.

The Minister stated that Luxor Airport was expanded to accommodate 2,700 passengers an hour instead of 1,000. The Civil Aviation Authority is currently preparing the airport to receive the groups coming to attend performances of the opera Aida, due to be held next month. Three projects are underway to prepare the airport with a cost of L.E.3.5 million.

Central air conditioning will be installed in the arrival hall. An airport parking lot will be provided to accommodate 12 planes of different sizes by night which will be away from the main tarmac. This is in addition to 14 planes that the airport is capable of receiving now.
