Regional livestock workshop in Damascus

Syrian Minister of Agriculture Assad Mustafa opened on September 14 the regional workshop on livestock production systems in the urban aeras of western Asia and north Africa. The workshop is held by the Agriculture Ministry in collaboration with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) at al Sham Hotel in Damascus.
Addressing the gathering, the agriculture minister referred to the significance of the workshop, which examines livestock prediction systems around cities. Syria has accorded this issue special care in order to reach self-suffciency.
Taking part in the workshop are representatives of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran.
