Egyptians fear American meat

Sources in the Ministry of Health said that American meat in which hormones are used is making its way into Egypt. The sources showed that the inspection committee of the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Health at the ports and entrances ignore the European ban on the US meat.

The source mentioned that this negligence could be caused by the fact that little American meat enters Egypt and it sells at high prices. The International Trade Organization called on the European Community countries to lift the ban imposed on US meat.

There were controversial views about the International Trade Organization's report which came down in favor of the US meat. The report declared that the hormones used in producing the US meat are not harmful to the health of human beings.
