A painter seriously wounded his mother when she refused to give him money to get married.

The story began months ago when the son had a love affair with a girl whose mother was not on good terms with the son's mother.

When his mother refused to marry him to the girl, he tried by all means to convince his mom to accept the marriage and give him money but she remained adamant in her refusal.

The lover borrowed money and bought the girl a wedding ring in the absence of his mom. And when the girl's family asked him to accomplish the marriage, he asked his mom, who refused again to give him any money.

He madly rushed to the kitchen, brought a cudgel and kept hitting the mother, wounding her seriously. Neighbors interfered and rescued her and reported the incident to the police, who referred him to the prosecution, Al Wafd daily said today.
